Matt and I had the pleasure of spending an extended Memorial Day weekend in one of our favorite places in the world. That's right the UP, more specifically Houghton. I am so happy that we got to take Zach there for the first time and that Matt finally made it back after too many years away.
We stayed at a really nice cabin (more like a house), right on the Portage, that we rented with my parents. It was relaxing and beautiful. Except when my dad's van broken down and they didn't have a way to get home. I think that even with that horrible event we all cannot wait to do it again. A lot of first happened in the UP. Zach decided his new favorite thing to do was to start pulling himself into a standing position and walking along the dogs cages. He also ate spaghetti noodles for the first time.
Koda and Meg both got into the water and swam after the ducks and bats a ton. Which as you can see after a few days of that Koda and even Meg was so tired they wouldn't even get off the couch the last day there.
The weather was great and even though it said that it didn't even get into the sixties we were all in short sleeves almost the entire time.
